Laura works in a one-on-one partnership with clients who are struggling with various life challenges.  She recognizes the challenges many client's face when considering trusting another person with their concerns, realizing that the first call can be the most difficult.

There are multiple elements collectively joined together making you who you are today. Some factors include your biological and psychological traits, while others encompass the way you are shaped through influences of family upbringing, education, culture, spirituality, socialization and personal experiences.

You are very unique, and for that reason I work diligently to understand you as an individual to more effectively address your specific concerns.

Individual counseling begins by assessing the issues that are most pressing for you.  They may be immediate concerns such as a recent loss, traumatic circumstance, or a transitional life change. They may be recurring concerns such as depression, anger or disorganized and fluctuating moods. Many times the initial struggles clients come to see me with uncover deeper challenges they have had throughout their life.

While working in collaboration with you I take time to gain understanding of the situation from your perspective, assessing not only your current challenge(s) but also how this may be affecting various aspects of your life.  I then work from multiple therapeutic practices to provide options for addressing the struggles that concern you most.  Including:

  • Addiction
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Grief and loss
  • Daily stressors
  • Depression
  • Familes challenged with ADHD
  • Marriage and Family
  • Suicidal thoughts
  • Trauma from:
    • Crime Victimization
    • Natural Disasters
    • PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
