A family unit can be thought of as a system where two or more members are linked through blood, marriage, culture, or commonality, and have a collective desire to build a future together. The family can be weakened or strengthened through adversity, just as an individual can. When one member is facing a personal challenge there is a rippling effect throughout the entire family system. When working with families as a whole, Laura facilitates open communication between members to enhance the family’s capacity to grow through crisis situations, thus strengthening the family’s ability to master future challenges.
Life transitions, physical or mental challenges, addictions, trauma and tragedy can all have a profound effect on the family. Your family is unique, just as each of its members is. I work to gain understanding of relational patterns between members to help the family identify those processes that are more helpful and those that may be causing greater challenges.
If your family is struggling to maintain collective healthy relationships or if your family as a whole is facing positive or adverse changes there are various therapeutic alternatives that can help you move through healing toward a deeper bonding process.
